The Obelisk at Marston Moor

Marston Moor Battlefield

The Battle of Marston Moor was fought on 2nd July 1644, during the English Civil War of 1642–1646.

The battlefield is reputedly haunted by both Royalist troops and Cavaliers. Sources claim that Roaylist soldiers have been witnessed staggering from the scene of the carnage. In the 1930's, a motorist watched on in horror as a passing bus drove through a group of ghostly cavaliers.
